Can you believe it’s April? We certainly can’t. In March the Syelo community rallied together to drive some incredible outcomes and we are excited to tell you about them. Below are monthly updates that we think you might care about.
NEW MENTORS
Alumni associations are one of the most powerful assets leveraged by any institution. As a matter of fact a colleges ranking is entirely tied to the alumni they generate. Recruiting has no alumni association, so we’re building one. In March we welcomed 3 new mentors who will be spearheading L&D here at Syelo:
Linsey Jackson: Global Head of Talent @ Faire. Ex: Cloudkitchens, Airbnb, Lyft, Facebook, Google, Salesforce.
Suzy Hathaway: Global Recruiting Leader @ Hashicorp. Ex: Salesforce, Stripe, Google.
Rockman Ha: VP Talent @ Patreon. Ex: Transfix, MongoDB, Facebook, Gilt.
COMMUNITY
If you are like me you never really invested in building real relationships with other talent leaders. This was a massive mistake because as we all know your network is your net-worth. Here is a zoom screen shot of me scheduling networking calls 8 months ago before Syelo:

Our mission is to build an indispensable community for recruiters and in order to effectively to do this we have implemented three new foundational policies that drive superpower outcomes:
Open Network Policy. Syelo caps membership at 1k and because of this we have the incredible ability to combine our collective networks and drive real connections. Per our new community policy any member of Syelo can ask any peer for an introduction to anyone in their network and the answer should always be hell yes. Warm introductions are the secret sauce to job opportunities, high profile investors, and amazing candidates. By combining our shared networks we become an unstoppable force.
Participation is Mandatory. Communities are only as good as the participants within the community. Our membership team takes a fine-tooth comb to recruiting new members and we take tremendous pride in recruiting the absolute best of the best in the talent space. That said, we need to see you. Per our new community policy every member of Syelo is expected to share at least 6 candidates per year in the platform in order to maintain good standing within the community. This enables us to achieve a minimum of 6,000 highly curated and referred candidates inside the Syelo database. Driving incredible value for all members.
Going Free. Recruiting functions are broke. It’s really sad to see. Talent leaders have never needed a community like Syelo more yet their budgets prevent them from joining. For us, this is unacceptable. Very proud and happy to announce a new tier of membership that is 100% free, no gimmicks, no gotchas, no fine print - it’s free.
