I am not sure how but we find ourselves in Q3 of 2024 and what a roller coster this year has been for all of us in Talent Acquisition. As the market pushes forward we have seen an increase in recruiters landing jobs but simultaneously seeing very little economic recovery across the various niches of tech (adtech, martech, consumer, etc.). So where are these jobs coming from? AI startups.
The technology market has not rebounded from the root causes of our initial decline but instead a new bull run has emerged as investors keep pouring money into AI startups. A crunchbase review shows that 84% of startups that received investment in Q2 were AI startups. The irony is not lost on us that AI is saving many of our jobs right now while also trying to replace us - lol “this is fine”.
When digging into our own internal data of talent leaders in they Syelo ecosystem who have found jobs nearly 40% have done so at early-late stage AI enabled startups. Crazy. We’re not economist nor will be pretend to be so but our sincere recommendation to all that read this newsletter is to pivot your career into AI OR Robotics recruiting.
Our thesis internally is that robotics will be the next massive investment wave enabled by AI. Why? Because what do you do when you have a super intelligent AI? Well, you embed it into a robot of course. The good news for us in talent is that building robots is really fu*#ing hard and you need extremely niche and highly skilled labor to execute - this is where we come in.
In June 100% of the deals won via the Syelo consultancy (our B2B recruiting services - where we deploy out of work Syelo members into fractional recruiting roles) were robotics or AI companies. Now more than ever it’s time for out of work recruiters to rebrand themselves and pivot hard. We’ve got your back - let us know if we can be helpful.
