Syelo Monthly Update
March 2024
Always Be Shipping (ABS).
I have a super serious question for you:

As a team we are pretty shocked it is already March of 2024 but the good news is that time flies when you are having fun. Below are monthly updates that we think you might care about.
NEW MENTORS
Recruiting has no alumni association, which makes it very hard for talent professionals to learn and collaborate with deeply seasoned executives in their space. As recruiters we deserve better so we’re building it. In February we welcomed 5 new mentors who will be spearheading L&D here at Syelo:
Elizabeth Raymond: Global Head of Talent, Nexthink/LogMeIn
Will Bronaugh :: Vice President Talent Acquisition, Bill.com (Will is our executive fireside chat this month!)
Gary Michael: VP of Talent, Shift4/VirginOrbit
Steve Maire: ex SVP of Talent, Yahoo/Walt Disney/Lucas Film/Procore Technologies
Perry Borgert: ex SVP of Talent, Nintex/MongoDB/Yext/SalesForce
SYELO TANK
You know who is actually really cool? Hirefly. Believe me we have every intention to partner with these gentlemen but as of right now we’re simply critics. As critics theres nothing we love more than being critical - it’s the best part of the critics job so it pains me to say, this is the best AI sourcing tool on the market.
Hirefly blew us away. As professional haters this was disappointing (JK!) but also refreshing. Don’t believe me? Watch the video of them pitching the TANK:
I guess this leads me to a new announcement (ABS). Since day 1 people have told us to charge startups to come on the TANK. $5k per pitch? $10k? How about 1% equity of your company instead?
You read that right. Syelo is launching a Venture Fund unlike any other, where instead of deploying capital we deploy services for 1% of your startup. Startups already give .25-1% away to single person advisors, wouldn’t access to 1k TA leaders be more valuable than 1 advisor? Imagine a massive network of your targeted buyers who help you find product market fit, roadmap future features, and even drive sales.
The best part…because our success as a fund is predicated on community every member of Syelo will have the opportunity to generate returns on the fund. Were you worried about what retirement looks like for a tech recruiter? Don’t fret you’re a VC now that can make THOUSANDS of bets with $0. One has to hit, right?

NEW PRODUCTS
I guess the first product isn’t really a product…Gotcha! Syelo now offers two tiers of membership:
Community Only. This membership gives you access to everything except our tooling. Cost is $500 per year or $67 per month.
Community + Tooling. This membership gives you access to everything including our tooling. Cost is $2,400 per year.
OK but we really did launch a new product and we call it candidateWIKI. candidateWIKI is a chrome extension that lives ontop of LinkedIn where our members are able to share real-time notes on candidates. Explain more you say? Ok here is the gist:
Let’s say you speak to a candidate for the first time, they are not a fit, but you learn core details about their jobhunt (ex: $250k, wants to relocate to NY, targeting CPO title) with candidateWIKI you input those notes on the candidates LinkedIn profile. Now whenever a Syelo member comes across this candidates LinkedIn profile your note will auto-populate giving that person objective details on the candidates job search. The best part is that additional notes on candidates can be added by any member of Syelo creating a complete historical dataset on the candidates targeted/ideal career outcome.

If you ever worked at an agency you know the power of candidate notes and guess what this power can now belong to you. Why? Because you deserve it 🙂
